For Consultants
Consultant Backgrounds
Callidon recruits new Consultants from top MBA programs across the country. Our Consultants come from diverse backgrounds, but typically have 3-4 years experience prior to attending business school with a demonstrable track record of success in academic, career, and extracurricular pursuits. They tend to be equally comfortable performing quantitative analyses as they are communicating with a senior executive. We look for Consultants who are smart, intellectually curious, and friendly individuals who enjoy working as part of a team and have honed their ability to listen, lead, and persuade.
Responsibilities
Callidon’s flat structure and entrepreneurial environment enables Consultants to assume a significant leadership role on case teams and throughout the firm. A Consultant’s primary client responsibilities include structuring analyses, executing and overseeing primary and secondary research, managing Associate Consultants, and maintaining client relationships. As part of this process, Consultants are encouraged to build strong mentoring relationships with the firm’s Associates, with whom they work on a daily basis.
In addition to their casework, Consultants are given considerable opportunity to contribute to the overall growth of the firm. Consultants are encouraged to support and / or lead non-client activities such as client development, firm marketing, Associate training, and intellectual capital development. For an example of a typical day, please see A Day in the Life of a Callidon Consultant.
Career Development
Consultants at Callidon are given the opportunity to move ahead more rapidly than is possible at most other firms. At the same time, we do not follow a strict up-or-out policy. We realize that professional growth can sometimes come in bursts and seek to provide our Consultants with the resources and training they need to become outstanding business leaders. Consultants are hired with the hope that they will be long-term employees, and Partners are dedicated to building significant mentoring relationships with every Consultant. Our open, non-hierarchical environment means that there is the opportunity for daily interaction with Callidon’s Partners, whether it’s for input on a client issue or just an informal chat.
Culture
We are proud of the culture at Callidon. We work together in an open office space and have fostered a fun and collegial environment built on mutual respect, open communication, and intellectual curiosity. Our employees often form meaningful bonds and friendships that extend beyond work and continue after their time at Callidon.
